Prostitution in general is the practice of temporary sexual intercourse, which is more or less carried out with anyone, in exchange for money or gifts as a trade transaction. Prostitution from any point of view is an activity that has a negative impact on various aspects, one of which is the health aspect. The practice of prostitution is a major medium in the transmission of sexual diseases and the cause of sexual dysfunction.

The practice of prostitution involving a prostitute in order to make a profit, a prostitute is someone who sells sexual services. This group of prostitutes is at risk for Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) because of their sexual behavior such as changing partners and inconsistent use of condoms during sexual intercourse. Even after using a condom, a person still has a high risk of contracting a Sexually Transmitted Disease.

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) or often called Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) are infections that are transmitted through sexual intercourse either vaginal, oral or anal sex. Some STIs are easy to treat and cure; others require more-complicated treatment to manage them.

If untreated, STDs can increase your risk of acquiring another STDs such as HIV. This happens because an STDs can stimulate an immune response in the genital area or cause sores, either of which might raise the risk of HIV transmission. Some untreated STDs can also lead to infertility, organ damage, certain types of cancer or death.

Syphilis is an example of a sexually transmitted disease caused by infection with the Treponema pallidum bacteria. Syphilis can infect both men and women, especially in women it can transmit to the fetus they are carrying. In general, a person is not aware of the symptoms of this disease which is also known as the lion king.

The signs and symptoms of syphilis may occur in three stages — primary, secondary, and tertiary. There's also a condition known as congenital syphilis, which occurs when a pregnant woman with syphilis passes the disease to her unborn infant. Without treatment, Treponema pallidum bacteria may spread, leading to serious internal organ damage and death years after the original infection.
